Invoking Kuan Yin, Goddess of Mercy

In October, 2004, during the lead-up to the 2004 Presidental Election, we offered a public ritual at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough, NC.   In the name of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, our intention was to join energies so that the waves of mercy, compassion and healing would cleanse and flow, to create still pools of reflection and truth.

Celebration of the Green Dragon

Our first public ritual was the Celebration of the Green Dragon, a ritual to bring peace and healing to a world on the brink of war.   It was held in downtown Durham, in March, 2003.

The event began in the Durham Armory, where attendees honored the Green Dragon by decorating his tail with prayers of peace and hope.  Our Dragon Caller then arrived and led the crowd in calling him into the circle.  The event ended with a parade through Durham to a public park where young and old joined together in a spiral dance.

Dragon’s Cauldron was pleased to share the event with:

Dances for Universal Peace;

Eartheal; and other like groups.
